Before you carry out work on trees protected by a tree preservation order (TPO) or within a conservation area you need to submit a tree work application.

You can find out which trees fall within these categories by using our interactive tree map.

The best way to submit a tree work application is online using the national Planning Portal.

Your completed application form will be sent directly to our tree team.

You can also download a tree work application form and submit it by:

  • Filling it out on your computer, electronically signing and emailing to trees@newforestnpa.gov.uk
  • Printing the form, filling it out by hand and posting it to Tree Team, New Forest National Park Authority, Lymington Town Hall, Avenue Road, Lymington, SO41 9ZG

Please take a moment to read the guidance (linked below) before starting your application. It will help ensure we have all the information needed to move your application forward.
