About the role

The Conservation Project Officer will lead and deliver habitat restoration and species protection projects across the New Forest National Park. Working closely with landowners, volunteers, partner organisations, and local communities, you’ll help protect and enhance the Park’s unique landscapes, rare habitats, and diverse wildlife.

This role involves both strategic planning and hands-on delivery, from developing project proposals and securing funding, to coordinating fieldwork and monitoring results. You will be a key point of contact for conservation partners and play a crucial role in ensuring that all projects meet high environmental and sustainability standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and deliver habitat restoration and conservation projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop project proposals and secure external funding where appropriate.
  • Liaise with landowners, contractors, volunteers, and partner organisations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, environmental standards, and NFNPA policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organise and lead volunteer work parties, providing training and supervision.
  • Represent the NFNPA at events, meetings, and public consultations.
