Residents, businesses and community groups are invited to meet the New Forest National Park Authority’s Planning Policy team at a series of public drop-in sessions to find out more about the next stage of the Local Plan review.
The Local Plan is an essential document that guides new development within the National Park, aimed at meeting local needs, yet conserving what makes the New Forest such a special place.

This review looks at key themes including:
- Meeting local housing needs and supporting thriving communities
- Tackling climate change and enhancing nature recovery
- Protecting the Forest’s unique heritage and character
- Promoting sustainable transport and reducing traffic impacts
The draft Local Plan is open for public consultation from 5 November to 19 December 2025.
