David was born at the former Fenwick Hospital, Lyndhurst in 1956.
He is a life-long Totton resident, married with two grown-up children. David spent 25 years in the insurance industry, qualifying as a Chartered Insurer and working in a variety of roles including project management, accident investigation and managing a busy claims office. He also worked as an Occupation Therapy Technician at an NHS hospital.
David has considerable experience in local government, including over 30 years as a parish / town councillor, a New Forest District Councillor and has served as Hampshire County Councillor for Totton South and Marchwood since 2004. He is also a Board member of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Authority and a Governor Member for an NHS Trust.
He lists his interests as ‘all things connected with the New Forest’.
He is a keen rambler, bird watcher, chess player and he thinks, the only member of the NPA who has completed the New Forest Marathon!
