Ella Mason is a corporate sustainability leader with extensive experience driving environmental and social innovation and change across global businesses. She is currently Director of Sustainability Strategy, Policy and Communications at NYSE listed Flutter Entertainment. Prior to Flutter she worked in sustainability and communications in global roles at Amazon, Danone, and Tate & Lyle. She has extensive experience working with local and national governments on policy issues and has specialist knowledge in environment strategy including a specific background in nature-based solutions funding, circular economy and value chain issues.
Through this work she helped deliver pioneering partnership projects to establish long term nature restoration programmes across Europe, as well as spearheading strategic transformation programmes in food and drink packaging, and value chain governance. Throughout her career she has championed inclusion and equity, mentoring young professionals from under-represented backgrounds and advocating for diversity in corporate affairs and sustainability.
Born in the Peak District, she has a lifelong love of Britain’s wild landscapes – from sleeping out on Dartmoor bogs to running across the tidal flats of the Seven Sisters – as a child she spent summers in the New Forest National Park and has been a regular visitor to the wider area when her family lived on the Isle of Wight. She believes National Parks are living, breathing landscapes that connect people to heritage, wildlife, and beauty, as while offering hope for climate for and future generations.
Ella and her family live just off Pilgrim’s Way in Surrey. She is an avid cook, very frustrated gardener, fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and despite rapidly deteriorating capabilities, remains overly competitive but entirely mediocre at various sports.
