Gordon Bailey

Gordon and his wife Sue have lived in West Wellow for the past 18 years.

Gordon was a Wellow Parish Councillor from 2003 to 2011 and has served as Blackwater Ward’s Borough Councillor with Test Valley for the past 10 years. The people within the Blackwater villages (Wellow, Plaitford, Sherfield English and Awbridge) enjoy the advantages of a semi-rural area, some areas of which lie in the National Park.

Gordon is currently the Vice Chairman of the Southern Area Planning Committee and also a member of the Planning Control Committee on Test Valley Borough Council

Gordon is a Consultant in the Industrial and Marine fields for corrosion and painting and also a lecturer for the Institute of Marine Surveyors on superyachts. At one time he lived overseas and it was whilst there that he was awarded an MBE for services to the British community.

Gordon and Sue are often in areas of the National Park walking their pet collie (responsibly!) and they also enjoy their classic car and belong to the New Forest branch of the Austin Healey Club.
