Beaulieu

One of the most important conservation areas in the District, Beaulieu lies in a magnificent setting within the New Forest Heritage Area and the South Hampshire Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Designation gives greater protection to the open and well-treed areas which are essential to the landscape setting of the village.

The conservation area includes not only the village, Palace House and the Abbey grounds but also Mill Dam Pond which forms the principal landscape feature of the village, and fields and open spaces to the east and west of the village. Beaulieu has a wealth of listed buildings including nine Grade I or II*, and the Abbey is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
