Toby C
Meet New Forest Youth Board member Toby C from Lymington
Favourite thing about / place in the New Forest?
My favourite thing about the Forest is the different variety of landscapes and wildlife that Iive here. My favourite place in the New Forest is the Sea wall and Eyeworth Pond at Fritham. Both locations have a wide diversity of bird species which makes them ideal for birdwatching or photography.
What skills do you have that could benefit the Youth Board?
I have lived in the New Forest my whole life and have been lucky enough to own our New Forest Pony. I therefore have an awareness of how special these iconic ponies are and I am passionate about road safety and awareness in the forest. I am a professional Photographer and a published author of a book on the forest, “A Year in the New Forest” with a foreword by Lord Montague of Beaulieu. I have great knowledge of the birds and animals and can identify different species confidently.
What do you want to get from being a New Forest Youth Board member? What skills and knowledge would you like to develop?
I hope I will meet people of a like mind who value the unique and special place we live and are passionate about the preserving the wildlife and habitats in the Forest. I would like to develop the confidence to talk to people of all ages and to pass on my knowledge of wildlife and habitats.
